Food and Fertilizer Export Restrictions Tracker

Our export restriction tracker continues monitoring food and fertilizer trade policies by the countries. According to our food and fertilizer export restriction tracker, one new measure was introduced by Mali on 4 October 2024. The Mali government has decided to suspend the export of several key agricultural produce, including shea nuts, groundnuts, soybeans and sesame. The decision to suspend certain imports aims to limit the outflow of these produces from the country to encourage their local processing. On 23 October 2024 the government of India has removed the minimum export price (MEP) of $490 per ton on overseas shipments of non-basmati white rice and has exempted parboiled rice and husked (brown) rice from export duty. With this announcement, India effectively removed most of the export restrictions on different varieties of rice, except broken rice (HS code 100640). Export ban on broken rice, which was announced on 9 September 2022, is still in place. The next update will be on December 8, 2024.
