Nutrition, countries with overlapping problems

Maps usually compare how countries are doing on individual health problems. The map below instead shows the combined impact of a set of problems.

Some countries experience a stunting rate higher than 20%, an adult overweight rate higher than 35% and a WRA anemia rate higher than 20%. They face a multi-front public health challenge and are coloured dark brown. Other countries have rates above these cut-off rates for two out of the three health problems, or for just one.

Countries without data for one the three problems are not included in the map. You can play the cartogram to see which share of the world population is living in seriously affected countries.

Only three countries of those with data have low rates for all three problems: China, Republic of Korea and Vietnam.
