LIVE ICTSD WEBCAST TODAY: Submit your questions on Twitter with the hashtag #ICTSDAG

Join us at 14:30 UTC +1 (9:30 AM EDT) for "Understanding the Interests of Agricultural Exporting and Importing Countries , " an informal dialogue exploring options for promoting food security and rural development by building on recent ICTSD work on national policy trajectories.

"The ICTSD dialogue is bringing together Geneva ambassadors, trade negotiators and trade policy experts with food policy experts to discuss how trade policies can help--and sometimes exacerbate-- food security," says Dr. Joseph Glauber, one of the speakers at today's event. Glauber is a Visiting Senior Research Fellow at the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) following 30 years at the United States Department of Agriculture, where he served as Chief Economist from 2008 to 2014.

This dialogue is particularly important with the approach of the upcoming WTO ministerial to be held in Nairobi in December 2015, says Glauber. "Streaming the discussion broadens the audience, potentially reaching policymakers and stakeholders, including those whom are affected the most by food insecurity," he says.
