FEWS NET has released their latest Monthly Price Watch for December. The report cites high but stable international wheat and maize prices, and predicts declines in international soybean prices in 2013.

Regionally, prices generally remained stable or decreased throughout West Africa in November. Some food-deficit zones faced slight price increases as flows from surplus areas slowed. In East Africa, seasonal price increases continued with the lean season in Rwanda and Tanzania; however, prices decreased elsewhere thanks to ongoing harvests. Southern Africa saw ongoing price increases with the progression of the lean season, as well as localized production shortfalls and increased fuel prices. Central America saw seasonal decreases thanks to recent harvests.
