The landscape of global food security and agricultural development is a dynamic one, responding minute by minute to changes in local, regional, and global markets, weather and climate, and political will. Keeping up-to-date with food security developments requires information and analysis from a variety of sources. The Food Security Portal, facilitated by IFPRI, provides one-stop access to the latest food security data, research, and news.

Now information from the Food Security Portal is even more accessible with the introduction of a mobile app, allowing users to access the Portal’s news feature and policy analysis tools, such as the Excessive Food Price Variability Early Warning System, from their mobile devices. Such increased accessibility will allow policymaker and researchers to stay up-to-date with the latest food security developments. To download the app, click on one of the icons below or, alternatively, you can scan the QR code using your smart phone camera.

The Portal also offers an embeddable widget (featured below) that users can include on their own websites, blogs, and social media outlets, such as Facebook and LinkedIn. The widget tracks the latest postings for the Food for Thought blog, as well as daily news updates and the policy analysis tools.
